Aegean and Sky Express fly to Heraklion all year, mostly from Athens. From April to October dozens of low-cost and charter airlines add direct routes from the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, the Benelux, Poland, Italy, France and Israel. There is no non-stop flight from the US or Canada.

Which UK airports fly direct to Heraklion?
In summer, a long list: London Gatwick, Stansted and Luton, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast among others, depending on the year and the airline. Jet2 and TUI fly package and seat-only; easyJet and Ryanair seat-only. Flight time is about four hours. In winter, expect few or no direct UK flights.
From the US and Canada
No scheduled non-stop flights. The easiest connections are via Athens (many daily US–Athens flights in summer, then 50 minutes to HER) or via a European hub with a summer route to Heraklion. Book on one ticket where possible, and leave a generous connection in Athens if you have to change terminals or collect bags.
